Hong Kong 2014

First trip of the year, I didn't expect to be so soon but yeah, Hong Kong hello again after a month.

I barely slept at all for the past week even to the day before my flight, although I had been telling myself I HAVE TO SLEEP before the trip because I know it will be a havoc journey with the girls. And because I have so much on my plate and also my nature of procrastination, I have failed to rest and went to Hong Kong sick. Yes you got it right. Wing how stupid are you? But luckily I spam Vitamin C and try to limit commuting in public transport and only had flu. Brought medicine along for the first time in my life (I am always confident that I will be in perfect health whenever I go overseas)

Are you ready...? To enter the world of food heaven in my eyes that I am about to present to you?

Okay lai liao.

First:

Checked in our luggage at the hotel (60 West is good for Central) then went to Tim Ho Wan specialty at IFC of Hong Kong. This is for 3 pax. Sorry. I mean, 3 (not fat) girls. We practically ordered like nobody's business as we were starving from the flight and also the anticipation of having dim sum lolol.

Went to shop at the F21 at Central... yknow why?

It is a friggin building. Not a boutique. 6 storeys of madness. There were 2 floors of sales rack. So needless to say, we spent 3 hours in that building and came out as happy girls lol.

Went to a 茶餐厅 nearby that looks quite good because it is beside a famous noodle stall but still had a lot people for tea break...

Don't even get me started describing how much I miss the stocking milk tea and the ham and macaroni soup as I will start crying now in front of my laptop screen in my Singapore home. But yeah, and classic wonton noodles and satay beef sauce udon. SLURP. Cosy corner we were at, hehe.

Went to put down loots, check in to the hotel room and I left to find my relatives. Had dinner with my aunts and grandma after visiting my grandpa.

HOT POTTTTTTTTTTTTTT yum

at Fairwood which is standard fast food in Hong Kong.

Had an early night and went to yum cha at Wong Tai Sin the next morning...

Simple fare, didn't eat much as the girls ate before they met me. But nevertheless I enjoyed the meal very much, feel super homely eating these comfort food.
Continued our shopping at H&M in Mongkok then had a quick bite at Fairwood again but this time different food...

Sizzling hot plate udon with meat strips, veg, pepper sauce and hot milk tea! SO GOOD WHY YOU SO GOOD! Yum yum yum maximum happy and energetic again after shopping in the cold.

Went to meet my relatives for dinner at a good goose restaurant in Mongkok

That friggin meat melted into my mouth please. And Alicia ate the 3rd pic veg and she told me she doesn't even eat veg at all in Singapore. Left me in awe hahaha.

Headed back to hotel right after, chill and prepare for a good night... ;)

My definition of good night:

Went out in one of my purchases lol. Showed them around in Lan Kwai Fong and finally we settled at my favourite Magnum club. To my super uber pleasant surprise, my favourite bartender in the whole of Hong Kong where I first met 2 years ago, STILL works there! Although he didn't remember me, but he still treated us well and made super good cocktails and drinks for us!

Slept at 4ish and woke up at noon to check into another hotel at YWCA (not bad quite decent hotel as well) and went for sushi!!!

This is where we went: Monster Sushi

Super ATAS layout as we stepped in. Seated in one of the private cabins (where the guy in white is) super cosy and nice!

Opened the menu and go crazy again. Hungry us ordered everything we think looks nice (not just the recommended ones) and had such a good meal we almost cried. Lol, but really. ._.v

Last round of souvenir and personal shopping let us to a late tea break at 金华冰厅:

So awesome this place, you know why...?

The 菠萝有 can make you cry...

(no pictures, go google if you're interested!)

Paired with an egg tart and a hot cup of stocking milk tea... Your afternoon tea break in the cold cold weather IS MADE. MADE!!!

Another last round of shopping and then we are off to hunt high and low for any decent looking hot pot (because they are all good and also we were friggin tired to travel to a specific one)

Went to eat at 小肥羊!!! Had it in China and instantly fell in love with eating lamb slices in steamboat (used to only eat beef)

So happy to introduce to them...!:

Eat and eat and then went back to hotel to pack up the purchases and prepared for a last round of...

Well you know the drill.

Bumped into an old friend and went to say hi.

Shortly left at 2ish to catch our plane. Managed to reach early so we sat down and rested for a bit.

That marks the end of my super friggin tired journey while I'm sick. Really must thank god I was so surprised I didn't fall ill like fever and all from the extreme weather conditions (my body lousy in withstanding cold) and long hours.

Time to recuperate this week before another mad week of Chinese New Year 2014!

Hope you enjoyed the post. Do check out the places I specially wrote down because they are GOOOOOOD. ^_^
