The quite-carefully planned SDZ Bingo Day which had been improvised quite a couple of times (It's just a game, I know!) was held today, hosted by me and Eda!
I must admit we prepared our materials only few days back because we have been so busy with other performances and rehearsals and usual trainings and sessions. But we also met up to discuss quite a few times. We actually had many great ideas but they were not as feasible as we think they might be, compared to Bingo Day.
So it started around three twenty, where we gathered everyone who came to support us (Thank you so much I LOVE YOU ALL, REALLY!) to form circles and stuff so we could mix most of the people up so they won't stay in their cliques!
Yes, the game wasn't as smooth as I thought. Firstly, we paired everyone up but we didn't have at least twenty pairs, so the chances of getting Bingo is slim, as most of the cards are not played. Almost twenty numbers were called out and nobody Bingo yet, I panicked.
I was afraid that the game is not going to work out and people would be bored soon from my silly methods of getting people excited:( But! Luckily and eventually, our first pair hit bingo after maybe twenty minutes into the game.
Of course they did not know, when they win, they actually have to draw out truths or dares from a bag that we had been preparing for a while. Since the first pair was a girl and a guy (Jeanell and Junhong) things hit off fast and people were soon enjoying the game (I think so la, 'cos everyone's laughing and stuff)
Then once they know Bingo will lead to truths and dares for them, we knew they would hide even if they Bingo to avoid going up to the middle of the circle, so smart Carin thought of, letting the person to their left/right tio, so since they're all mixed anyway, they wouldn't mind sabotaging their neighbours.
And to my delight, everyone seemed to get more and more high as we used more dares than truth.
In the end we couldn't let all the pairs come up and do dares/truths, but most came up! We ended slightly after five.
It's my first time organising such a event for so many people, I was nervous and stuff, I didn't know how to even start getting SDZ to a circle but I suppose problems we met today can be solved with a few more discussions with Eda.
I really hoped everyone enjoyed themselves (despite getting Bingo or not) and hopefully I can plan a more efficient one. Sigh, actually kind of worried about the response, though I received some positive ones saying they like it and wouldn't mind playing again. But I know there's people who might think it was a waste of time:(
Anyway I went for Lum's session and modern session after Bingo. Finally I don't have to wake up over-early to perform tomorrow. I shall take a well deserved rest?
And and, I drank a whole can of Red Bull by myself for the first time in my life (because I was so exhausted I was afraid I would not perform as well in SME FOP) and the taste sucks. Serious. (The carbonated one)
(Hadn't typed so much for very long, heh.)
